A Common Thread 2010
The scoop: A Common Thread is an elite annual exhibition showcasing the fabulous fiber art of Textile Center members. It is the premiere exhibition to the 2010 Textile Center Gallery season! Opening reception is January 15th at 6 pm (it is free and open to the public).

Chris Mars Show
The scoop: One of my favorite artists, Chris Mars, will be showing his latest at the Phipps Center for the Arts. Opening reception January 22 from 6:30-8:30 pm.

Foot in the Door
The scoop: Foot in the Door is an open exhibition for all Minnesota artists, which takes place every ten years at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Since 1980, Foot in the Door has celebrated the diversity and enthusiasm of Minnesota's visual arts community. Submit your work and be part of the state's largest art exhibition. For details and registration information, visit the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program (MAEP) website above. The event is free.

Hudson Hospital's Healing Arts Program
The scoop: A collaboration between Hudson Hospital and The Phipps Center for the Arts exhibits through their Healing Arts Program. Time to be announced. My work will be on display in the Obstetrics/Family department.

Lake Minnetonka Arts Tour
The scoop: Lake Minnetonka Arts Tour is a juried event. The tour features artists who reside and/or work from studios in communities that surround Lake Minnetonka. Please stay tuned for further details.

Art-A-Whirl 2010
The scoop: Art-A-Whirl is an open-studio and gallery tour of Northeast Minneapolis. It is an enticing event that calls and welcomes local and regional visitors who want to see the art being produced. More than 400 artists participate in AAW, including potters, tile makers, painters, sculptors, musicians, photographers, glass blowers, printmakers, and textile designers. They showcase their art in warehouses, homes, storefronts and cafes.

Solo Exhibition @ Normandale

Jerome Fiber Artists Project Grant
I was honored and excited to be one of three recipients for the Jerome Fiber Artists Project Grant for 2008. The grant allowed me to work towards my dream of having my surface designs (patterns inspired by my original paintings) printed onto environmentally friendly fibers and used in the upholstery and garment industries on a national and potentially international level. The project period was from December 1, 2008 through July 31, 2009 and concluded with an exhibition of the work in the Textile Center Joan Mondale Gallery.

New Business Card Series
For those of you who have seen my business cards, you may recall they are created in a series of 4. I'm excited to unveil series #2! This time around I selected a recycled paper and a printer who specializes in eco-friendly production. Below is the positive environmental impact I had by making this choice:
